1HZ, 1HD-T, 1HD-FT sticking starter fix

    If you starter is sticking, i.e. the strater keeps on turning over after you release the ignition key from the strating position, you can easily fix it by replacing the contacts and plunger. This is a common fault and the condition of the contacts should be checked before you take your Landcruiser on an overland trip.

    You will need the following parts form Toyota:
    Starter Kit: 28226-54320 (28226-17030 can also be used for the 24valve 1HD-FT)
    Strater Kit: 28226-54220
    Magnet switch plunger: 28235-17030

    Total cost of the parts needed is around £50.

    I paid £15 for a repair kit for mine from here (see my thread here). The kit is of good quality and the guy was very helpful, just send him the part number off your starter motor and he'll send the correct kit. :icon-cool:
